Ensuring Flight Safety with Status Jet

Safety is always the most important part of any flight. Getting there quickly is good. Getting there conveniently is nice. Getting there luxuriously is lovely. But getting there safely is what matters above all else. No one else does safety like Status Jet. Quite simply we have a procedure called Status Check that puts Status Jet head and shoulders above the clouds and everyone else. Sit back, relax and fasten your seat belts for a thorough review of the safety practices that ensure your flight safety.

We pre-screen all partners

The Status Check approach to safety begins with an in-house pre-screening of all aircraft operator partners. We ensure that all aircraft and crew are in compliance with FAA Part 135 Regulations that govern the operation of charter aircraft. We make sure they have a longstanding track record of safe, successful private flights and financial stability so that they can focus on the aircraft maintenance and safe execution of each charter flight. We will break down what that actually means here in a moment. Just know we focus on your safety so you don’t have to. You can relax and enjoy your private jet charter experience.

When you’re preparing for a road trip, you know the main things that always need to be checked before embarking on a successful journey. Check the fuel level, tire pressure, and fluid levels on your vehicle, then check the weather and plan your route. The Status Check safety procedures that we go through at Status Jet before any flight are similar, but much more thorough.

The Federal Aviation Administration or FAA is the voice of authority above all others in aviation. Their safety standards are not only the benchmark, but also the underlying structure of the industry. Part 135 covers the regulations over the majority of charter jet operators. In addition to the Approved Vendor program we also use a pair of leading third-party business aviation safety auditing firms: ARGUS and Wyvern.

ARGUS has a series of ratings – Gold, Gold Plus and Platinum levels can be attained.

To reach the Gold Rating, ARGUS conducts in-depth research into a number of databases and other trustworthy services. Historical information on the commercial certificate, pilots and aircraft serial numbers are all processed and scored. This information is compared against a group with similar exposures and determines whether or not the applicant is eligible for the Gold Rating.

To reach the Gold Plus Rating the operators must meet all the Gold Rating requirements and have completed an ARGUS on-site safety audit or maintain IS-BAO (International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations) registration.

The highest level is the Platinum Rating. This is only awarded to operators who have met the criteria for Gold and passed the ARGUS Platinum on-site safety audit. It also requires a Safety Management System as well as a clear, well-laid-out and workable Emergency Response Plan. They must also maintain well-documented records for all aspects of operation and maintenance for the flight department or charter company.

The Wyvern Standard or Wingman Standard was developed by Wyvern. Wyvern is a globally-recognized company within the manned and unmanned aviation industries known for their focus on safety, quality, and risk management. Status Jet is also adhering to the Wingman standards developed by Wyvern as well as EXACT assessments and certification. EXACT stands for Excellence through Continuous Monitoring and Training and is another certification program developed by Wyvern in its continual search for improvement of safety regulations.

There are other operational requirements for our approved charter operators. They are required to be free of accidents involving serious injury to passengers and have NO major FAA enforcement actions against them within the past five years. Each private aircraft must carry liability insurance to provide for a minimum of $4.25 million per passenger. We also require our flight crews to have met certain standards. A captain must have at least 3,000 hours flying time with at least 1,500 as captain. They must have at least 250 hours in the particular type of aircraft they are flying.

Now that you know more than you ever wanted to know about flight safety, know that Status Check ensures your safety first and foremost on any flight. In following these rigorous safety standards, we give you the opportunity to sit back, relax and enjoy the wonderful amenities provided on any of our luxury jets. Put your mind at ease when you travel with Status Jet where your safety comes first.
